The Black Policy Institute has been invited to an exciting event taking place this weekend. Join us on Saturday 5th - Sunday 6th October in the Linbury Room at Dulwich Picture Gallery for an exhibition celebrating the Black Parents Movement (BPM)—a pivotal force in Britain’s history. Through powerful imagery and compelling stories, explore how Black parents from the Caribbean and Africa confronted inequalities in education, housing, and employment during the 1970s and 1980s.
This event honors their resilience and the significant impact they had in shaping a fairer society. Our distinguished speakers include althea smith, Chair of the Southwark Safer Neighbourhood Board, alongside Brian Channer and Selena Carty, who continue to inspire community engagement and advocacy.
Don’t miss this chance to reflect on a critical chapter of history and celebrate the legacy of those who fought for lasting change.
